Rockstar Games, the same people that develop the Grand Theft Auto game series, has developed a car racing game that takes place on the streets of Los Angeles. On the same week we celebrated Earth Day at Wilshire’s Car Free Party, Rockstar announced a game that is the opposite of "car free."

Gamer website The Man Room reports:

Midnight Club: Los Angeles will race onto Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 with a faithful recreation of Los Angeles by series creator Rockstar San Diego. A large selection of customizable rides including motorcycles will also be available.

Jay Panek, Midnight Club Producer Rockstar San Diego, adds "We’ve added some great twists and turns that let players experience the authentic vibe and feel of the city at blistering speeds that you simply couldn’t get away with in real life."

Can’t get away with in real life? How about is completely impossible on the streets of Los Angeles because of our ridiculous amount of traffic? However, I do look forward to the sequel release, "Midnight Club: Los Angeles 2, Congestion in the Carpool Lane."
