International Livable Streets Superstar Jan Gehl was originally going to speak in Los Angeles earlier this year as part of the Imagine Green L.A. series put on by the now-defunct Livable Places.  While Jan isn’t coming to Los Angeles anytime soon, his firm is working closely with NYCDOT and the results are a pretty impressive plan to increase pedestrian amenities in the Big Apple.  A lot of what Gehl and Streetsblog EIC Aaron Naperstek discuss is New-York-Centric but the truths and theories are universal and can be applied to Los Angeles or any American city.
