Looking for Holiday Cheer? Grab Your Bike and a Toy…

Since I closed Streetsblog for the Thanksgiving Holiday with a poster advertising a charity bicycle ride to benefit people at Thanksgiving, it seemed appropriate to re-open the blog with a post about two charity rides to pass out toys to those less fortunate before Christmas.  I promise I won’t turn Streetsblog into some sort Holiday Season blog, although there will be a post later to help with your Christmas shopping in the next couple of weeks.

On December 12, the oft-disparaged Midnight Ridazz will be sponsoring their Third Annual All City Toy Ride.  Basically, interested riders should bring a toy to take part in a ride that will go through the Valley, down to Long Beach and cut-through the city.  The ride will begin at 10 P.M. at the Olvera Street pavilion across the street from a Gold Line station.  Bring an unwrapped toy and be ready for a long ride.

The next morning, C.I.C.L.E. will be hosting its 3rd Annual Toys and Mittens Ride meeting at 11:00 A.M. at the Mission Gold Line Station in Pasadena.  As with the Ridazz, if you plan on attending, you should bring a toy or warm clothing item for charity.  Unlike the ride above, this one is a shorter 5 mile ride that will be contained in one city. This ride is part of C.I.C.L.E.’s Urban Expeditions ride series.
