In just over 10 days, Los Angeles will hold its first Bike Summit on Satuday, March 7 at Los Angeles Trade-Tech College.  If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so by clicking here.

For those of you that don’t know what the Bike Summit it is an all day gathering of cyclists from around the city, both activists and those who just ride, to try and build a common agenda and common

Streetsblog will be taking part in the summit by being part of two different panels.  First we’ll be showing a series of Streetfilms taken around the country to help create a vision of what Los Angeles could be by showing the range of what is possible.  We’ll also be moderating a panel with other online activists including Green LA Girl, Road Block and the designer of the BikeXDataBase site.

But the fun doesn’t begin or end on Saturday the seventh.  While the bulk of the summit events are going to be on Saturday, the summit is an all-weekend event.  On Friday night, the Summit is sponsoring a Root Down Ride Around which will be a tour through the past of LA bike advocacy.  The day after the summit, the Eco-Village will be hosting a series of informal discussion groups to build on what was discussed on Saturday.
