And the Winner Is…You Decide

12_29_08_streetsie.jpgLast year’s awards were a big hit.

It’s become something of a Streetsblog tradition to take the week off between Christmas and New Year’s and partially fill the space with our Streetsie Awards.  Like the name implies, it allows us to focus on some of the best, and worst, stories from the previous year.

I thought I would take things in a new direction for this year’s Streetsies and have a "People’s Choice" set of awards as well as the ones picked by me.  That way we can see, side by side, how close my feelings matched yours and, well, because it sounds like fun.  Interested parties should read last year’s Los Angeles Streetsie’s post to see what I’m talking about.

Of course, for that to happen, I need some of you to volunteer to help me out.  If you’re interested, leave your contact information in the comments section or email me at damien@streetsblog.org.  I’m not sure how we’ll do the voting yet…we’ll figure that out after we see how many people sign up.

Incidentally, this site averages over twenty thousand unique readers every month.  If I end up with a committee that is Joe Linton, Josef Bray-Ali, Browne, Spokker, and one of the Box’s, I’ll be a little disappointed.  Not that there’s anything wrong with any of these people, they’re the backbone of the comments section; but this is a great chance for some of the regular readers who lurk to be part of the blog too.
