A personal errand took me to Marina del Rey this morning. Thanks to last night’s wind storms, much of Washington Boulevard was covered in fallen palms. Correction, much of the bike lane was covered in Palms. As I observed a cyclist veering out of the lane to avoid a palm, a car honked angrily. “Stay in the bike lane,” an angry passenger could be heard yelling.

While it’s good to see the L.A. County Bureau of Street Services hopping to action, it would certainly be nice if they cleared the whole street instead of pushing the palms into the bike lane.
