Today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. author Charles Hobbs will have a signing for his new book Hidden History of Transportation in Los Angeles.

The event is being held at Vroman’s in Pasadena, 695 E. Colorado Bl.

This book is the result of years of research, and while in-progress was referred to in this 2010 blog post. Hobbs is a longtime activist on transit issues with a historical bent.

Transit options include Pasadena ARTS route 10, Foothill Transit route 187, Metro routes 180-181,
256 and
686.

At Lake/Colorado (2 1/2 blocks away) there is a stop for the Metro Rapid 780 to get to the event (but unfortunately it stops running before the event ends). And of course the Gold Line has stops somewhat nearby and if one doesn’t want a bit of a walk you can transfer to buses at several of the stops to reach the bookstore (for example from Allen station you can take the 256 or 686).
