Big meetings this week for cyclists and transit riders.

Monday – Tonight, the Coburn School will feature a performance of Eine Brise (‘A Breeze’), an avant-garde musical performance piece for 111 bicyclists that was written by Mauricio Kagel in 1996. The performance begins at 5:30 at 200 S. Grand and they’re looking for bicyclists with bells to help out. For more information, click here.

Monday-Wednesday-Thursday-Friday – Tonight also marks the first of four meetings on the Gold Line Eastside Extension Phase II. They’ve narrowed the field to two options, plus a no-build and a busway improvement option. For more information, click here.

Tuesday – Tomorrow night, Phillipe the Original hosts the monthly meeting of the Transit Coalition. Tomorrow’s meeting will feature some of the staff of the High Speed Rail Authority. The meeting starts at "6:46" and for travel directions visit the Coalition’s website.

Wednesday – The City Council Transportation Committee meets to discuss speed limit increases and other issues. Mostly small stuff, like that public hearing with Chief Beck and the cycling community. The meeting starts at 2:00 P.M. at City Hall, and there will be much more on this tomorrow.

Thursday – The Expo Construction Authority is holding an open meeting on the west end construction of Phase I of the Expo Line at 6:30 at Culver City Senior Center, 4095 Overland Ave. For more information, click here.
