The Week in Livable Streets Events

There are times when I’m writing this column that I just KNOW that the moment I hit publish that there’s going to be a group of good events coming in the inbox.  Nevertheless, the five events I do have for this week’s calendar are pretty diverse.

Monday – Thursday – Subway to the Sea, errr, I mean Westside Subway Extension updates.  For more information, click here.

Tuesday – Is the election for Mayor in the 23rd most bike friendly city in America!  Long Beach readers should vote early and vote often.  Streetsblog’s Drew Reed pens a preview in today’s edition.

Tuesday-Wednesday-Saturday – Metro continues its community outreach meetings for the Regional Connector.  You can read all about the meeting details in our calendar section and The Source has a pretty good wrap-up of what new information will be presented.

Wednesday – The City Council Transportation Committee meets at 2:00 P.M. in City Hall.  You can read the full agenda here, and we’ll have a preview here at Streetsblog in a couple of minutes.

Saturday – St. Andrew’s West L.A. joins forces with the Eco-Home Network and the Greensters for a day of green living demonstrations in the lead-up to Earth Day.  For more information, click here.
