Consider this a friendly reminder that in a little over two weeks, L.A. Streetsblog will be re-launching as a "full-time" blog. Of course, that means that we’re also rapidly approaching our Re-Launch "party and fundraiser" on August 25.

If you missed the announcement last month, we’re going to party-down Westside style in Nolte Hall connected to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church at 11555 National Boulevard. We’ll start at 7:00 and end whenever people leave. Try not to stay too late, I need to get to work the next day. The suggested donation is $20 ($15 for students) on a sliding scale. Nobody turned away.

In addition to drinks (beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks), munchies and a raffle; this party will also feature the unveiling of a new urban model by James Rojas. If you’re not familiar with Rojas’ work, click here to see some of the amazing places his modeling projects have been displayed both in Greater Los Angeles and around the world.

In addition to myself, the fundraiser is being programmed with the help of Darrell Clarke, Denny Zane, Siel Ju and the Board of the Southern California Streets Initiative, the new non-profit that will take care of providing the content and fundraising support for L.A. Streetsblog after the re-launch.

Shortly after I go back to writing on a more full-time basis, we’re going to start adding some new features and writers to the mix. I don’t want to jinx anything by announcing them too soon, so stay tuned!

For more information on the fundraiser, visit our Facebook page, here. Feel free to invite your friends.
