Historic Northwest & Northeast LA Sunday Funday Ride

Date: Sunday, May 1

Time: Meet at 9:30 AM; Ride at 10:00 AM

Location: Meet at Echo Park Lake boathouse on mid-lake East bank – 751 Echo Park Avenue, Los Angeles, CA (map)

Led by LACBC & CicLAvia Board Member Stephen Villavaso, this ride will explore the many hidden treasures of Northwest and Northeast LA. Meet at Echo Park Lake, and we’ll wind our way through Chinatown, Lincoln Heights, and Highland Park. Along the way, we’ll discover some of the unique characteristics of the area by riding the Arroyo Seco Bike Path, walking a hidden pedestrian path, and waving to the Bike Oven.

Length: 15 miles. Estimated to be 2-3 hours long.

Difficulty: For all riders. Mostly flat with a few major streets. Note that you will have to carry your bike up steps for a few minutes.

What to bring: Helmets, locks, money, sun block. Dress accordingly.

Weather: Heavy rain cancels or postpones the ride, but with light rain or a drizzle, the ride will go on!

About Sunday Funday Rides: Sunday Funday Rides are held on the first Sunday of every month (June excluded for River Ride) and meant to explore different corners of LA County and reflect the the diversity of our organization.
