(When Sirinya first approached me about doing her and Juan’s wedding announcement on Streetsblog, I thought it a little odd at first, but is there anywhere else that would be more appropriate a place for this transit super-couple to announce their nuptials to the world?  I know I speak for all our contributors, Board Members and readers when I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the happy couple.  For our first Juan and Sirinya pics from 2008, click here. – DN)

Sirinya Tritipeskul and Juan Michael Matute were married October 15 in Claremont, CA. The Rev. Rebecca Benefiel Bijur, a Universalist Unitarian minister, performed the ceremony at Pomona College’s Little Bridges Hall of Music.
The bride, 29, and the bridegroom, also 29, met at UCLA, from which they graduated.

The bride, who is taking her husband’s name, is the Assistant Director of Social Media at the UCLA Fund.  She received a Master of Arts in urban planning from UCLA and a BA in Economics from Smith College.

She is a daughter of Charlene and Jimmy Tritipeskul of Valley Glen, CA. The bride’s father is the bell captain at the  Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. Her mother is a professional event planner and the catering sales manager at the Crowne Plaza-San Pedro.

The bridegroom is the director of the Luskin Climate Initiative, which is housed in the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. His research interests include Electric Vehicle policy and transit planning. He received an M.B.A. and a master’s in urban planning from UCLA. He also holds a BA in International Relations from Pomona College.

He is the son of Lynne and Juan Matute of Claremont, CA, both of whom are retired.
