Top U.S. planners will announce reccomendations on how to make Union Station the ultimate transit hub serving Los Angeles
| As Metro looks to revitalize historic Union Station, plans to better integrate the station with the rest of downtown Los Angeles – in particular with Chinatown, Little Tokyo, El Pueblo and Civic Center – are also taking place. Metro, in partnership with the Los Angeles Department of City Planning, has invited an Urban Land Institute (ULI) Advisory Services Panel to provide strategic advice to the City of Los Angeles about what land use, planning policies and infrastructure investments should be implemented. The goal is to capitalize on this major redevelopment and create better connectivity between Union Station and the greater downtown area. The Advisory Panel, consisting of eight experienced urban planners, architects and developers in the U.S. and chaired by developer and investor Charlie Kendrick, will announce their findings and reccomendations for development of Union Station and its surrounding area at a public briefing. |
