Ride South L.A. – Ride and New Healthy Food Map

You are invited to bring your bike — and your friends and family — on Sunday March 3rd at 10am for a bicycle parade to launch our new Healthy Food Map for South L.A.

This easy and celebratory ride will feature stops by local community gardens, and show how bicycling can be a bridge to many hidden local food resources. Snacks at the end of the two-hour ride will be provided by Community Services Unlimited, which already delivers groceries by bicycle in the area. The ride will be led by South LA’s East Side Riders.

Do you have a bike basket? If so, bring it and help turn the ride into a vegetable delivery demonstration, as we bring vegetable bags to Normandie Elementary for families at that school.

Where: Mercado La Paloma entrance (3655 S. Grand Ave, just east of the 110 freeway near Exposition and Grand)
When: Sunday, March 3 at 10 AM
Who: Anyone with a bike, of any age

Many of you helped make this map, which is available for download for free. The map features pictures taken on mapping walks in South LA with ordinary cameraphones.
