The fate of the 710 is being discussed at the Gateway Cities Council of Governments I-710 Ad Hoc Committee, and will soon be discussed at Metro's new I-710 South Corridor Task Force.

Caltrans is seeking public input in developing its local Active Transportation Plans. The L.A.-Ventura plan will identify locations for bicycle and pedestrian improvements on, across, or parallel to the state highway system.

It appeared that cancellation of Metro's High Desert Corridor Freeway meant that voter approved "mutli-purpose" funding would go to rail. Now Metro Highways are moving to steer the money widen another highway nearby.

Pomona Families Holding Out Against Caltrans/Metro Home Demolitions for 71 Widening

To widen the 71, Caltrans has already demolished 15 Westmont homes, with 3 additional homes still threatened - in addition to the 6 homes the agency demolished a decade to make way for the Mission Boulevard Bridge.
