This Week in Livable Streets Events: Two Big Meetings, Bikes and Charity

You have a couple of days to prepare for big meetings on Wednesday and Thursday.  Then there’s some great rides and other outdoor events to cool off this weekend.

Wednesday: Metro is doing a survey of riders along the Metro Orange Line Bike Path from 6:00 A.M. until  2:00 P.M. (and again next Saturday.)  For information on how you can volunteer, visit the Orange Line Blog.

Wednesday: Councilman Rosendahl calls all cyclists together for his first Big Bike Meeting.  Will the LAPD show up and say anything useful?  Is this another exercise in hope-squashing by City staff?  What about those two new resolutions?  We’ll find out the answers to these and more questions this Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in City Hall.

Thursday: It’s the last Metro Board Meeting of the decade!  There will be much more on this later in the day.  In the meantime, you can read the agenda here.

Friday: One of the biggest bike rides of the entire year is the volunteer-organized "All-City Toy Ride."  The description pretty uch says everything you need to know, and start points can be found around the city.  If you want to figure out where the closest start point is for you, check out the Midnight Ridazz calendar section on the right of the website.

Saturday: For those interested in something different to do on a Saturday night.  The Eco-Logical Art Gallery, located on Pico Boulevard just west of LaBrea is going to be dropping the curtain on a new, community painted, billboard on top of the gallery.  For more information, visit their website, here.

Sunday: The Eastside Bike Club is looking for some volunteers who want to spread holiday spirit by taking part in the Lincoln Heights Holiday Parade.  For more information, go here.
