Here’s a chance to catch your breath after the last couple of hectic weeks.  Once you’re re-charged, get ready for the fundraiser and bike ride for the Bicycle Kitchen on Friday.

Wednesday – The Southern California Planning Congress sponsors a dinner and discussion with Alexis Lantz, who has been conducting research on bicycle commuters in Los Angeles, and Jordan Turner, from City Planning.  For more information, visit our calendar section.

Wednesday – The LADOT DASH cut and fare hike hearings have been better attended and more raucous (more on that later this week…) than originally expected.  Your last chance to testify in person is Wednesday night, 7:00 p.m. at Ramona Hall Community Center, Community Room 4580 North Figueroa St..  For more information, click here.

Thursday – I’ve heard a rumor that the Los Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club, the largest chapter in the country, is going to begin looking at more Livable Streets issues in addition to their Green Car and transit campaigns.  No better way to find out than to head to this month’s meeting of their transportation committee at 7:00 P.M. at 3435 Wilshire Boulevard,
suite 320 (the tall Equitable building across from the late Ambassador

Saturday – The Bicycle Kitchen celebrates its five year anniversary by kicking off a three month fundraising campaign with, what else, a bike ride.  A $5 donation gets you a ride card.  Meet at 1:00 P.M. at Hel-Mel for a 10 mile ride to a potluck in Echo Park.  For more information, click here.
