There’s a lot of interesting and unique bike events in East Hollywood at the end of the week.  If you’re in the area, or are wondering how to spend your weekend, make sure to check them out.

Tuesday – C.I.C.L.E. is holding an update meeting on its campaign for N.E.L.A. at Cafe de Leche, at 5000 York Road.  For more information on the campaign, visit the CICLE website.

Tuesday-Wednesday – Metro is holding a pair of hearings on the environmental studies for its "congestion pricing" plans on the I-10 and I-110.  If you’re like me, and six o’clock is just too late to head out to a meeting, you can view the Tuesday hearing online.  For more details, click here.

Wednesday – The City Council Transportation Committee meets at 2:00 P.M. at City Hall to discuss, amongst other things, a plan for some more D.I.Y. traffic calming.  This time, we’re talking speed humps in the 4th District, and this time the community is getting the city’s ok first.  Because of maintenance, the City Clerk’s website is down, but we’ll discuss this meeting in greater detail tomorrow.

Thursday-Sunday – ArtCycle isn’t the only innovative cycling event happening in East Hollywood this weekend.  "In the Living Room of L.A.’s Bike Culture" is an exhibit featuring the works of Jennifer Moran, Brian Janeczko, Enci Box and Aurisha Smolarski at the Municipal Art Gallery in the Barnsdall Art Park.  Make sure to check out the schedule of interactive events that support the gallery exhibits.  Hours vary, so make sure to check our calendar section before heading over.

Saturday – The LAPD sponsors a morning charity ride to raise funds to fight cancer.  Rides include Infraction Route (15 miles), Misdemeanor Route (25 miles) or Felony Route (50 miles) levels.  For more information, visit their website at www.ridetoarrestcancer.com.
