Streetsblog Is Looking for Interns…Do You Want to Use Your Keyboard to Help the Livable Streets Movement?

3_30_10_summit.jpgNever underestimate the organizing power of college students.

If you’re a student looking to get more involved in Los Angeles’ Livable Streets Movement, have I got a deal for you.  I’m looking for help to expand the Streetsblog empire in Los Angeles and I have a couple of research projects for which I need some help.  At this point, Streetsblog can’t offer pay, although maybe if this summer’s fund raising goes well that situation might change, but here’s three things that I can offer you:

1) A chance to be published on an award-winning website that draws over 20,000 readers every month.

2) Real-world experience interacting with, and reporting on, the politicians that make Los Angeles move…or keep Angelenos trapped in their cars pending your point of view.

3) Classroom credit, pending the approval of a teacher or professor at your educational institute of choice.

So what kind of work would an internship entail?  Well, if we (both me and you) decide that we’re a good fit, we would figure that out together.  Since I can’t offer a guaranteed salary, I’m more than open to working with you to come up with a program that works for both of us.  If you have a project in mind, drop me an email and let’s talk.  If you don’t, there’s plenty of research projects, such as an examination of how the LAPD does and doesn’t determine whether a crash is a hit-and-run, and other types of projects (Streetfilms!) that we can work on.  Just email me at damien@streetsblog.org  and let’s get talking.
