The Week in Livable Streets Events

The week starts out slowly, very slowly.  I’m guessing it’s the holiday.  But it ends with a roar, and a party (well, fundraiser really…)

Tuesday – The City’s Bike Advisory Committee meets in the Hollywood City Hall Community Room at 7:00 P.M.  For a full agenda, and more information, click here.

Thursday – For those of you that are more policy oriented, UCLA is hosting a lecture by Harvard Economics Professor Alan Alshuler on Equity, Pricing and Transportation.  For more information, click here.

Thursday – Bike Night at the Hammer.  Food, drinks, bikes, movies.  Free.  Can’t compete with that.  For more information, click here.

Friday – Metro is holding the first of a round of community outreach meetings on the regional connector this Friday at noon at Los Angeles Central Public Library, 630 W 5th St, Los Angeles.  Has the underground option survived?  Find out.  And tell me about it at the fundraiser later that night.

Friday – Did you know Streetsblog is having it’s first Los Angeles fundraiser this Friday, at 6:00 P.M. at the Eco-Village?  Don’t worry, I’ll bring it up a couple of more times in the next couple of days.  For more information, click here.

Saturday – The Southern California Transit Advocates host their monthly meeting.  This week’s guest speaker in the architect of Measure R and the mind behind "30 in 10," Denny Zane.  The meeting starts at 1:00.  For more information, click here.
