Wow!  That’s a lot of stuff on Thursday.  Last time Move L.A. had a conference, it led to Measure R.  Wonder what they have planned for this week.

Monday – Caltranst hosts a seminar on "how to prepare a succesful Safe Routes to School" application.  This should be required for anyone working at LADOT, but is open to anyone (consultants, advocates, people that work at DOT’s…)  The meeting starts this at 9:00 A.M., so if you’re interested you better get a move on.  For more information, click here.

Tuesday – The Transit Coalition has its weekly dinner at Phillipe’s the Original at 6:45 in the Downtown.  This week’s guest speaker is Metro’s Bruce Shelbourne.  You know, this might not seem like the most exciting event this week, but one of the cool things about Metro is that they’re willing to explain how the trains work and have dialogue with customers at events such as this without the p.r. staff on hand.  This should be an interesting meeting.  For more information, click here.

Wednesday – The city’s expenditure plan for Measure R goes before the full City Council.  The good news, the 10% bicycle and pedestrian set-aside is in the proposal and it’s on the "consent agenda" or "items for which hearings have already been held."  The bad news, this is the City Council…who knows what’s going to happen.  The meeting starts at 11:00.  You can read the full agenda here.

Thursday – Move L.A. holds an all day conference on where transit planning goes from here with the"Measure R and Beyond."  For more information, visit Move L.A.’s homepage.

Thursday – The Caltrans Bike Adivsory Committee meets Downtown in the Caltrans building across the street from City Hall (100 South Main Street).  The meeting states at 1:30 P.M. and usually goes two hours.  For the agenda, click here.
