The Week in Livable Streets Events

Monday – The American Society of Civil Engineers hosts a luncheon with speakers discussing the “Bringing Broadway Back” and other possibilities for the Downtown Streetcar.  Get the details, here.

Wednesday – The SCAG Transportation Committee meets for the last time before a vote on their Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy.  As we’ve outlined, there are some problems with the draft, even if it is better than the current plan.  The meeting starts at 11:30 in SCAG’s Downtown headquarters.  Get the details and agenda, here.

Thursday – The Metro Board of Directors meets at 9:30 in their Downtown Headquarters to discuss Civil Rights, bike planning and more.  Maybe even the Regional Connector.  The agenda isn’t posted yet, but when it is we will let you know.

Sunday – Bikerowave hosts a free class entitled, “How to Fix Your Bike Even If You Don’t Know a Bottom Bracket from a Brake Cable.”  The title doesn’t leave a lot to the imagination, get all the details, here.

Don’t forget, the Library Alehouse (129 Main Street) is hosting Streetsblog on Tuesday 3/27 for an all-day fundraiser and raffle.  More details coming later today.
