Free Public Art/Dance Performance Near Mariachi Plaza

March 16, 2013, on three stories of scaffolding as dusk approaches, Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre and Danza Floricanto/USA will presentEXPULSION – an evocative cross-cultural public art performance FREE to the public. The two Los Angeles dance companies will fuse their distinctive choreographic styles – site-specific work and traditional Mexican folk dance – into a dynamic intersection of the contemporary and traditional worlds.

Transforming the vacant lot at East 1st Street and North Boyle Avenue across from the historic Boyle Hotel and Mariachi Plaza de Los Angeles with community public art, Artistic Directors Heidi Duckler and Gema Sandoval will enliven the empty space through bold movement and conversation.
