The Week in Livable Streets Events

There’s a handful of big meetings this week, but everyone keep you energy up for our fundraiser on Saturday night.

Tonight – The LA/2B Team working on the city’s new Mobility Element will hold their second meeting tonight ourlining the environmental process for the element. We’ll have an update on the plan tomorrow, based in large part on tonight’s meeting. In the meantime, L.A. Walks has tracked the plan and offers their own comments. Tuesday – The UCLA Luskin Center holds a special panel and interactive discussion about the reality and perceptions of women’s safety on public transportation in Los Angeles. Get more details, here.

Tuesday, Thursday – Tomorrow is the Westside meeting for the #RoadBond Roadshow and Thursday is scheduled to be the Eastside’s. I still don’t have the location of the Eastside one, but the Westside’s info can be found here.

Wednesday – Expo Phase II hosts a community meeting with construction updates on Phase II of the rail line. The West L.A. meeting is this week. Santa Monica next week. Details, now.

Thursday – It’s time for the monthly dose of transportation policy and political infighting. That’s right! The Metro Board of Directors meets at 9:30 am. The agenda hasn’t been published yet, but when it is you can read it here.

Saturday – Enjoy a fun-filled day with family activities and an outdoor movie screening right along the L.A. River. Bike valet provided. Bike+Walk at 4 PM, Community Fair at 6 PM, and Bike-in Movie Screening of Beetlejuice at 8 PM. LACBC will provide free bike valet! More info and Facebook event.
